The Sir Douglas Myers Scholarship was established in 2000 and is made available through the generosity of the late Sir Douglas Myers.
The Sir Douglas Myers Scholarship provides an opportunity for students who
have distinguished themselves academically to take up a place at his alma mater, Gonville and Caius College, and Cambridge University.
Sir Douglas expressed the hope that graduates would eventually return to New Zealand to become leaders in their chosen fields, to the direct benefit of New Zealand and its people.

"Be yourself. There’s no point trying on an act and telling people what they want to hear, because you’ll be caught out. Stand up for who you are, and what you believe in, and you’ll do far better"
- Michael Fletcher, Myers Scholar 2005
